Guide for video (+ sound) recording using Dosbox (for all DOS games)
1. Download Dosbox version 0.65 :
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/dosbox/DOSBox0.65-win32-installer.exe?download
choose your favorite mirror
2. Full install DosBox
3. Install the zmbv codec - manually or following this path:
Go to : Start > All Porgrams > DOSBox-0.65 > Video > Install movie codec (WinXP and Win2000 Only)
4. Run DosBox
Go to : Start > All Porgrams > DOSBox-0.65 > DOSBox
5. Mount your working-on directory (ex : C/)
Open your dosbox shell, you'll get Z:\ - type mount c c:\
To open Prince of Persia game > after mounting move to the prince folder and lanche the game; type prince or prince.exe (with extra parameter(s) ; megahit or improved (n) for cheats)
6. In-game:
To record a movie, you have to press CTRL-ALT-F5.
To stop/end the recording, you have to press CTRL-ALT-F5 again.
7. After you have finished:
Go to : Start > All Porgrams > DOSBox-0.65 > Capture folder
(or open this path : C:\Program Files\DOSBox-0.65\capture)
8. The recorded game file is now in .avi format prince_000.avi (with sound)
9. For upload don't forget to compress the file (prince_000.avi) to prince_000.rar so the size will be reduced 60 to 90 %
10. An example of recording : http://popuw.com/mods/prince_000.rar (full screen is supported too)

You just don't have the zmbv codec. Once you install the new DOSBox, everyting will be ok. _________________ STAY OUT, LOSER!

hmm wierd problem, your Windows is installed on C:/ drive?
try this again:
type mount c c:\ (lower case with backslash at the end)
now type : c: and voila you're working on c now. |

well i solved the problem
i didn't type
Z:\>mount C C:\
but
Z:\>mount C C|\
thinking it was the "double dot" symbol (in dos box they are very similar)
now i recorded the solution for my first level and i'll post it!!!
Thank you for this topic |

Did you install the ZMBV codec correctly? Do you have a player player that supports the codec ?
These do:
1. Windows Media Player 9
2. Real One Player 1.2
3. I'm not sure, but I think Quick Time 6 can do it. |
