Hello all of ye. I've been lurking this site for a week or so, after I started playing POP1 and 2 again. I've finished them quite easily (I've not lost my POP feeling I guess, although I had some trouble with the end of 2 as I never played it before XD).
However, back on topic, I wanted to install and play 3D (going by the flow, so to speak). I have two PAL versions at home (one of a friend of mine) and I tried to install my original version. Nothing wrong. I skip the Quicktime, DirectX and WMP install as I have all of those as newer version. I put in disk two, play pop3d.exe, and it goes wrong.
I see the logo, then either nothing happens, or I get some kind of debugger error in the pop3d.icd file. Some solutions I've already tried thus far:
- Uninstalling POP3D and reinstalling the version of that friend of mine: same errors.
- Uninstalling Quicktime and installing v4.0: same errors.
- Using all kind of cracks: the icd error disappears, but then I get an error with the pop3d.exe file in the same category as with the icd file.
- Downloading the full version from this site (not illegal as I have the game): same errors.
- Patching the game with all the above solutions: same errors.
I even tried a control:
- Install the game on my father's comp which has Vista and better specs: runs fine!?
I have one possible bugger:
- DirectX cannot be reinstalled or uninstalled (Happy DX Uninstall). I have 9.0c, but something seems wrong: other games run fine though.
I'll give some basic specs: if you need more I'll update the post.
- Windows 2000 Pro SP5.0.
- Intel Pentium 4 Dual CPU 3.2 Ghz.
- 512Mb RAM (which needs upgrading anyway)
- My videocart is a certain ATI card, but I can't find the exact specs at the moment.
I hope you have some solutions for me, as I want to play the game . Thank you. |

I'll try it again, but somehow WinRAR couldn't extract a few of the movies as it said they were 'corrupt'. I'll download them and I'll see whether it will works this time: but I don't think it's game file related as the game worked on my father's computer. Thanks anyway. |

Have you tried disabling your sound card and playing Prince of Persia 3D without the sound? _________________ Those days are all gone now but one thing's still true -

I did now. I checked first whether it was completely disabled: Winamp didn't work. I start pop3d, and I get the same error.
This is the specific error. Take note that it's Dutch, but I guess that the important info is clear.

How exactly did you install the game on your father's computer? I mean, did you install any patch, etc. ? _________________ Those days are all gone now but one thing's still true -

FAFAI can remember, I didn't use any patches... I cannot look that up easily now, but I figure that I wouldn't have done all the trouble of a patch (the LAN is down) only to test if it worked. |
