he can travel throu time!, maybe, he traveled back or forward in time, to were the island is not surrounded by water, is all dry, and then travaled back to the prince's time! _________________

1 - The movie of Dahaka in Babylon, that's problably Prince's nightmare 'cause Dahaka is after him.
2 - Obviously Dahaka has powers. One of them must be teleporting.
3 - Dahaka doesn't teleport in front of Prince because maybe Dahaka need to be near him to sense him. That's why Prince in the first chase says: The Dahaka! It has found me here! And because its a game.
If he just killed you, there would be no game.

Asking these questions is sort of pointless. The reason it doesn't just teleport through the water or kill the Prince when he grabs him is: because then there would be no game.
It's only a game, I guess the guys who made it just didn't think of these things, or thought that we wouldn't notice.

Dude... He can travel trough time. He's the Timeline's guardian.
He just didn't knew Prince were going to the Past, an back to the Present,

I thought the bit at the start was more like... the Prince remembering what brought him to this ship, and letting the players know that it's been chasing him from the begining, that it's what drove him to begin his journey. He's haunted by the thought of it returning, so he can't stop thinking about it hunting him.
