hey guys, completely new to POP modding, been having a go for a few days, made a few levels with roomshaker, awesome stuff.

I've downloaded PR, and exported vdungeon.dat, modified the "pillar" graphics in mspaint, and when i import them back to vdungeon and place them back in the prince directory, the image gets all messed up in the game...

I'm obviously doing something wrong, a little help anyone? Smile

I also would like to edit the sprites (and texts), but I'm stuck with this problem. Please help someone who has edited these.

I have not edited these, but I guess this could be a problem with the file type.
Be sure that the image you imported is of the same dimensions, format, that it has the same color depth etc...
Just guessing Smile

Dimensions are the same, they are saved the same as a 16 colour .bmp, yet even if i change one square of colour, it gets jumbled after i import back into vdungeon.dat. Crying or Very sad

This is a bug in PR1.2, it was mentioned here: http://popuw.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1358
PR1.2 is incompatible with Paint.

Okay, cool... is there a specific program that I should use to edit the tiles?

PR was only tested with paint shop pro 7. PAL and BMP file format are compatible with this program. If you use others, you can always convert it using that. In the future this will be fixed, but you'll have to wait a lot since this is not a priority.
This support will be fixed when PNG format file support with transparency is added.

It should have been tested with Paint, too. You know, most people use Paint because it comes with Windows.

You are right. The idea was migrating from bmp to png to support transparencies as well. But this will take a lot of time and I don't have it Sad

Btw, again, if you want to keep the PR trunk developing thread I'll be glad to give it to you.
