comments: Hello; I wanted to play this mod but Total Packs don't open it, why not? I installed it in both: 3.5 tries to open and nothing happens; 3.01 also tries and something happens: a window appears with a written telling me "this mod is not found"; even if I already installed it! How is it so?!

Most SDLPoP mods do not work with Total Pack. See:

@malvivio this is an amazing mod, why don't you instead just download the SDLPoP file and run the PRINCE.EXE? It's a bit of task, but you would definitely enjoy the mod!

This mod has extensive changes to the SDLPoP engine so it might not be compatible with Total Packs. You can just download the zip file and run "PRINCE.EXE" on Windows (or PRINCE on Linux).

I will add some more information about the mod here that is missing from the description.

- It only runs using SDLPoP in Windows or Linux - no need for DOS Box.
- It significant changes to the engine to make it feel more like Prince of Persia 2
- There can be multiple guards per room (1 active at a time)
- Guards can follow kid down, do not disappear during falls and can be used to fall out on buttons
- Kid can separate from shadow like in PoP2 after level 10 which has a very similar premise to the last temple level in PoP2
- Shadow itself plays a bigger role in the game
- More opponents
- More potions
- More unexpected events
- Reworked levels (some more than others)
- Ability to replay levels you have already passed (through the menu)
- Positional sound and Roland MT-32 like music
- Lighting effects on some levels
- The game gets a bit more difficult as it goes along but it is not a difficult mod by any means and does not require knowing any tricks/bugs to complete
- Defeating Jaffar and finding the princess is more involved than just fighting a "slightly more difficult fat guard".

Are you looking for the access to the source code? That 7z file is simply hosted on Github because the ambient music makes it too large for Popot and is not designed to be used a source repo.

@psw1220, I'm guessing this mod's author (dmitrys) continues to improve the mod. This is why the author also continues to update their mod on this website. This is also why Total Pack (and poplaun) will notify you that the mod has been updated.

I cannot beat level 11 because I can't find a way to open that gate at the top. I've tried floating potion but the effect wasn't long enough.

Check the tutorial by clicking F1 at the loading screen or intro. There are additional moves that are not available in the original game.

I have made a visual update to the mod. Now there are guards of different colors in the same room/level. Also, swords have been changed from PoP1 sticks (except for skeletons) to swords that resemble PoP2 swords.

The only side effect is the character structure now has a different size to account for every guard's color. That means quick saves and automatic level save files done with the previous version of the game are not going to load.

@Mr.CB You can use the PR editor to extract the graphics. Use have to use the "DOCS\POP15.XML" file as the "resources.xml". Level 10 uses TEMPLE.DAT file. The last level uses PALACE2.DAT.

"TEMPLE.DAT" is blue in the original mod and cannot be changed with the PR editor due to monochromatic palettes without corrupting the walls. The color change was done with the "level color variations.pal" in the "PRINCE.DAT" file.

DirectX 9.0 is required by SDL2 so anything older than Win98 SE is most likely not going to support it.
