I had this one downloaded for a couple years, and just gotten around to finnishing it today.

More enjoyable than I expected, despite some things not being quite exactly my cup of tea. The levels are of medium length and can take 4+ minutes each, excepting the final stretch that is relatively shorter. Exploration is minimal - you jump room after room in a single, linear path to reach the exit door, so you simply won't ever get lost. This is evident even with potions: health is usually next to guards, plenty long drops preceded by feather fall potions, 1UPs in the middle of the way.

Often reaching the next room is met with some struggle, be it several short jumps over spikes or many gates surrounded by drop buttons, or mid-skilled guards aplenty, things that can eat precious seconds nonetheless. Your main difficulty is the 60 minutes timeframe, and while the levels are generally first-time friendly, one fatal mistake in a late part can significantly affect whether you'll be able to save the princess or not, hence why (quick)saving is recommended. My final time was 11:28 with few retries, your mileage may vary though I'm not sure if sub-20 min left is doable with impeccable skills.

Some other highlights:
- It's clear to me that care was put into levels looking well detailed so points for that.
- Level 4 has multiple gates per room and chances to get trapped, still not difficult.
- I accidentally skipped a chunk of level 8 by going the east way at the beginning. Very likely an intended shortcut by the author. The mouse must still be waiting for me...
- Both level 6 and 12b have you fighting multiple bosses in a row. I've never fought more than one Jaffar in a level, not that I can remember. Luckily time will freeze after any Jaffar dies first.
- The recurrence of feather fall potions started to get comical after a while. It's like, almost every level had at least one simple but random long fall preceded by a large potion. I liked this ngl. Level 11 does test your observation skills though.

I might check another set by this author in the future. While I prefer a little more complexity in exploration, I am fine with not having to worry about where to go or what to do next, for a change. If this was the author's first release (I would assume so given the title), then it was a solid introduction to his style.
