The graphics are improved, similar to the 16-bit versions, both in the characters and the maps. However, there are occasional visual glitches in the textures, for example, some walls that are completely black.
On the other hand, Jaffar, the fat guards, and the cutscenes remain in the 8-bit format. The color change on the princess is unconvincing, not only because of her clothing, but also because there's a darker area on her face, as if she had a beard.
The puzzles are minimally entertaining with a balanced difficulty.
The map design is quite mediocre; some tiles don't allow you to grab onto them when jumping on the edge. There are also areas that connect to the edge of the screen, but without a wall, resulting in instant death for the prince when he gets close.
Level 5 is too short, unless you're trying to get the potion that increases health points.
The transition from level 6 to 7 fails, when falling in front of the prince's shadow. Although it only happened the first time, it worked correctly the second time.
The mod changes the area where the mouse appears to open the door after the prince gets locked in. This can be confusing since the rodent takes several seconds to appear.
Level 13 is partially similar to the original.
Otherwise, there's nothing that prevents you from finishing or progressing in the game, but it's clear that some details need polishing to reach a minimum level of quality. Perhaps that's why this mod hasn't received any ratings or reviews yet.
