If you are not sure what to do, simply download "PoP1 Total Pack":
http://www.popot.org/other_useful_tools.php?tool=Total_Packs
Then you can easily download and play what you want.

peterx, if you want to talk about things not related to the mod HWLev03 that this page is about, please do this on the Princed forum:
http://forum.princed.org/
Where you post now is not a general forum, it is a page about the mod HWLev03.

Continuing with the series since I'm having a blast. It's good to me that now these mods don't seem too hard to me like back in the Total Pack days.

HWLev03 is in some respects harder than hanswurst's previous mods. The first level already throws the kid into an unstable start, and it rarely lets up. A few newer tricks (or "exploits") are introduced, like with the very first guard, though as it's been the case so far, it's generally not hard to grasp what needs to be done. Combat is more pronounced - that is, many more guards to fight normally, skip past, or take advantage of (figuratively!). There're still plenty gates where players must reach in time, with obstacles in the way, though not as many as before (certainly none like in HWLev02 level 10). Instead, you're regularly looking for ways to keep buttons pressed, which is now the core task in nearly all of the levels. In general, hanswurst made this task cleverly involved with fresh ideas, though often the inevitable backtrack that comes after hunting for a loose tile is the less interesting part -- and this is felt stronger when you see those minutes flying like seconds. Once again, time was my biggest bottleneck, as some levels took me above 6 or 7 minutes (level 11 alone took 9 minutes!). I suppose one just has to be incredibly fast, not one second wasted for a life potion. Cannot confirm myself, but I found a playthrough on YouTube of someone who beat this mod with 4 minutes left, so I may have to check what I missed.

But let's get into my highlights:

- Unrelated to this mod but I'm starting to enjoy the prince 2 sprites despite "imperfections". I may use them someday. I did notice that chomped/spiked guards though weren't properly converted, logically since PoP2 doesn't have those exact same traps.
- Speaking of guards, something I didn't mention before, but I noticed that hanswurst designated particular skills for each color. For example, purple guards are always skill 5 (4 in apoplexy), green guards can be either skill 8 or 10, and so on. Realizing this made some things so much easier.
- Level 2 has an entirely optional section that is designed to trick players. Luckily I first found the exit, but I was curious to see what was in that other area and, well, what a dickish trap. I couldn't help but to laugh, a reaction not everyone may experience. It wasn't the only level where I fell for hanswurst's troll moves. Levels 6 and 7 got me a couple times too. At least he makes you learn a trick or two.
- In level 3, there's a couple parts where certain skeleton's behavior is exploited in interesting ways. If you don't know about it, think of what the skeleton typically does after you push it off the edge in the original level.
- Use of feather fall potions stays interesting every time. In level 5, there're for both soft falls and long jumps and must be used strategically. The one in level 11 isn't just for you though!
- Whereas the mouse in HWLev02 wasn't your friend, here you have to help the poor thing first before it tries to help you. I quite liked that twist. I wasn't a fan of that brown guard at the top left though, or I guess in this case he's dressed in blue and dark red.
- Exploring level 10 was pretty fun, possibly my favorite in the set. I liked how it's interconnected. Many levels have cool room connections, but I guess this level clicked the most for me.
- Some latter levels can remind of earlier ones. The start of level 11 is kind of similar to level 4, with the twist that a particular jump is necessary to continue to the next room. Level 12 starts similarly like level 2 as well, with some key differences (BTW, the shadow encounter was given some more difficulty here).
- Once again, it was cool to see a level 12b that played with its limitations in fun ways.
- Because I chose to care less about time constraints (by cheating after level 11), I allowed myself to find life potions. I liked those in levels 5, 7 and 11 the most. I noticed a lot of inaccessible potions as well. I assumed I would be able to access them in following levels, but they were just there to add "depth", which I can't complain because I do that too.

Overall, the HWlev series is slowly becoming one of my favorites, and I highly recommend them. It's necessary to learn the levels to minimize time spent in each, or alternatively start with megahit to play comfortably. If you can blaze through this mod in 60 minutes with no cheats involved, hats off.

Important tip:
- The executable to run is prince_no_wda.exe in order to get the palace walls displayed correctly.
