Hi,
I downloaded Prince of Persia 4D files. I was able to get to level 10. After I complete level 10, I get the error message, "Please enter Prince of Persia disk in C: drive and press enter". I am not sure how to move past this!
Please help!

This question has been already asked several times. You'd better search before you post. A good search expression might be "4d please insert", with the search for all terms option, perhaps restricted to the prince mods forum.
For instance, you can find your answer in this or this thread.
And, by the way, please don't cross-post. |

| yes, both solutions are a kirill.dat that was incomplete, I hex edited and finish fixing it with PR. |

poirot said "incomplete" so maybe it was corrupted or something. The room connections in POP4D are strange.

I think the problem was that in one download/copy the file got truncated in the latest bytes corresponding to the latest levels index entry (all the level data has been well preserved, only the index -that is the tail of the file- was damaged). It seems that this corrupted file became popular or it was the one Terebilov used to distribute, first over the russian BBS and then all over the net.
It took only 5 minutes to fix it, as all the levels have the same size, the index is always the same, so I copied the latest bytes from the original levels.dat to kirill.dat, re extracted with PR and looked at the plv files to see if the sizes and checksums were correct, after that I just reimported the levels back to kirill.dat. |
