Talisman Engine
UPDATE:
-Enemies
-another weapon
-a new level
Give credit to me and the people listed below if used for a game.
Editable
Compiled
New Site
This is the Talisman Platform engine, made with 100% custom sprites and the code is 95% original (It was based on the Foxengine, huge credit to Fox-NL). This engine features most of the moves found in the PoP Sands of Time Trilogy along with some new additions and stuff I thought would be fun. Following is a list of features, bugs, credits and planned additions. Any help would be appreciated. When it is finished I plan on remaking the full SoT Trilogy with it. (so if you have anything minor you would want changed then feel free to ask, although I won't make any drastic changes to the storyline). The combat is based on WW/T2T's Free form fighting system.
Feature List:
-Basic and advanced movement (Standing, crouching, running, jumping, wall jumping, climbing, hanging, swinging, wall jumping and more)
-vertical, horizontal and profile wall running
-bars which can be crouched on top of
-Crumbling platforms and bars with debris that reapear after 10 seconds
-slope movement
-water that affects the player
-time manipulation
-moving, slippery and semisolid platforms
-traps (floor spikes, wall buzzsaws, roof spikes, spiky logs, rotating blades etc)
-multiple methods of death
-lighting
-ragdoll chains, cutains and ropes
-Destructable objects
-splinter cell-type view filters
-Menus
-Tutorials
-Free Form Fighting Combat
-Plenty of swords
-Ziplines
-Enemies with AI
-and more
Known Bugs:
-it is possible to get stuck in the geometry
Credits:
Time travel, semisolid and basic platform movement based on Fox-NL's platform/time travel engine - (modified by me)
rope physics created by Kow- (modified by me)
turdfuguson for fixing the beam glitch
Sohasu for the new skin
Mastergunnz for the revolver sprite
Have Fun!

hey!
I played some of this game and i can only say : you did really really a great work. How long does it take you to make it?
As for GameMaker, I worked few under it on Arabian Nights 2D (by Jordin Kee) project http://popuw.com/an2d.html but I stopped working on it and hadn't upload it any new works...
But you didn't add some music background in all levels. It will be good if you do in the newest versions. |

thanks, it took about a month, maybe longer and I'll try to find some good bg music, It's only really an engine so I didn't think music would be entirely necessary, but why not. half the other things aren't either |

welcome to the forums
The next update wll be soon as I've decided to restrain myself from drawing ludicrous amounts of weapons in order to start NPCs earlier (because what good are weapons without people to use them on?). expect it some time within the next couple of days. After NPCs, I'll add enemy-dependant attacks such as vaulting and then the engine will be complete |
