Butcher: Developing mods too!!! Wink

First of all: I'm really proud of give to everybody here my insane, amazing, incredible and awesome modiffication. Razz

I enjoyed a lot building these levels and I wasted about 5 weeks developing this mod! Shocked

There is no easy level in my mod. You will need to be an experienced POP player to play it. With exception of the last level that have 6 rooms (the potions level), yeah, I use the potions level too. All other levels have more than 20 rooms

Game Engine: Customized Prince of Persia 1.3

Remaining Time: 600 minutes (10 hours) Shocked

Graphics: With exception of the Prince all the graphics are the same as in the original prince, only palette color change. The graphics from the titles (title.dat) were changed.

There are two executables, one named "iamlamer.exe" where is allowed to cheat for the lamers and other called "arabian.exe" for the experts where is not allowed to:

- Level warping (Shift+L)
- Heal yourself (Shift+S)
- Give a new life (Shift+T)
- Kill guards (K)
- Revive/Ressurect (R)
- More/Less time Keys (+/-)
- Blind Mode (Shift+B)
- Invert Key (Shift+I)
- Explore below/above/left/rigth rooms (N,U,H,J)

Hint: Press 'Ctrl+V'

All the guards have 10 skill level, the arey skilled.

This game is not intended to be played in just a single day as I think many people here don't have 10 hours to play so save the game to play it in the next day, you are allowed to save the game after the first two prisons.

There are soundtracks too! Take a look at the soundtracks section

Note to Starwindz: Please, don't put this mod in your Total-Pack because I use some unconventional palette colors and many dungeons/palace graphics sets in the Total-Pack don't allow that colors and they screw up the screen.

I will build a new mod soon where you will have only 10 minutes left.

In the level names section below I will describe the level names following the convention:

## (# of Rooms) - Level Name / Alternate Name / Alternate Name 2

Level Names

1 (24) - Darkness Prison / Spikes and Chompers / Watch your step!!!

Try to escape this prison, walk carefully, don't run!!!

2 (24) - The Prison of Hell / Be carefull / Mission Impossible!

Full of traps. Be fast in some points

3 (24) - Tower of the Despair / Climb! Climb! Climb! / Acrophobia (Fear of Heights)

Many people will hate this level, but it's really insane, it use the Level 3 Restart in some point.

4 (24) - Palace of the Illusions / Halls of Necromancy / First Palace

There are no mirrors here. This palace is very large.

5 (23) - The Magic Palace / The Six Gates Puzzle / Amazing Insanity

You need to open the six gates to exit this level.

6 (24) - The Castle of the Perdition / Please, don't hurt me / First Castle

Do you really think that you know the way to exit?

7 (24) - The Fortress / Corridors of Intense Terror / If I float will I die?

The ways are too long to walk... Be carefull when falling after drinking the potion. Another hateable level... This level is built like a big fortress

8 (20) - Vertigo / Suicidal Tendencies / To leap or not to leap? (Shakespeare *)

If you fall you definetely will die!!!

* Sir William Shakespeare was an english writer best known by the phrase "to be or not to be, that is the question"

9 (24) - Palace of Four Elements * / The Eight Gates Puzzle / Unsure places...

Be carefull at the this end of this level, maybe there are unsure places...

* The four elements are fire, sand, water and wind.

10 (24) - The Labyrinth / Infested / Mommy!!! I'm afraid of guards!!!

24 rooms, 24 guards: As the alternate names says, you are trapped in a labyrinth infested of guards. Be carefull with two guards, one behind a gate and the another located under a pilar.

11 (24) - The Incredible Castle / Castle of Confluence / The Hub

Walk, walk, walk...

12a (22) - The Nightmazing (Nightmare + maze + amazing) / The Sixteen Gates Puzzle / Total Madness

In fact there are about 30 gates, 2 gates open the first 4 gates that open the first 8 gates that open the last 16 gates.

12b (22) - DIE, JAFFAR, DIE!!! / My Nightmares are real!!! / Jaffar doesn't die so easily

20 halls! 20 Jaffars to fight! 20 hit points to hit!

When you reach this level it's better you have at least 100 minutes left as to kill each jaffar if you be fast enough to do that you will need at least 5 minutes.

This level use "princed" features, different links for each room, don't use the explore room keys here.

13 (21) - The Punishment Palace / The Thirty-Two Gates Puzzle / Where is the opened gate?

Eight gates open the next eight gates that open the next eight gates that open the next eight gates.

Before of the last Jaffar die, he created this puzzle preventing you to reach the princess so easily, the guards here lost the powers after Jaffar death, so they are easy to kill.

Save the game here because if you die, as the level 13 you don't have the timer and originally it had no traps, if you die and you restart the level again in a few seconds you will be prompted to "press button to continue", even if you press the button the game will not allow and it will restart the entire game

14 ( 8 ) - The Final Judgment / Jaffar's revenge / Doom Gate

Jaffar is REALLY INSANE!!! He wants to terminate you, he wants your blood, flesh, bones, etc. so he is now very powerfull, you will need to terminate a 100 hit points Jaffar.

Soundtracks

1: Slayer - Behind The Crooked Cross, The AntiChrist, South of Heaven, Mandatory Suicide
2: Black Sabbath - Master of Insanity or Metallica - Master of Puppets
3: Any Iron Maiden/Bruce Dickson song, but I prefer "Judas Be My Guide" from the "Fear of the Dark" album
4: Definetely Motorhead - Sacrifice
5: Anthrax - Among the Living or Pantera - Regular People
6: Ozzy Osbourne - Shot in the Dark, Mr. Crowley, Bark at Moon, any Ozzy Osbourne song.
7: Any Deep Purple song by I prefer Perfect Strangers
8: U2 (Bono Vox) - Vertigo or Ozzy Osbourne - Suicide Solution
9: Any Dio Song but I prefer "Holy Driver"
10: Metallica - To Live is To Die
11: Megadeth - Sleepwalker
12a: Iron Maiden - "Brave New World" album
12b: The entire "The Wall" album from Pink Floyd
13: Any Alice In Chains song but I prefer "Dirt"
14: As in the Terminator 2: Judgment Day, that movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, actual governor of the state of California (U.S.A), I council you to hear Guns and Roses - You Could Be Mine

It looks very promising , I will test it tonight ..

put some level pictures in your post to give us an idea of what awaits in those prisons ..

It sounds nice, but I have a couple of questions. When I press the link, I am directed to this page. All right so far, but where is the file?

And secondly, what am I supposed to do with it, once it is in my computer?

(I once downloaded a mod, but did not know how to apply it to the game.)

Wait until a "Click here to start download" link comes. As for playing it, extract all the archive's contents to a folder, mount that folder with DOSBox, and launch with arabian.exe.

OK. I get the second part. It sounds easy. But no such link appears. Is there a waiting time, since it's not the first time I try to download from Media Fire, and I never get more than what I've already posted as a picture in my previous post?...

Oh, wait... something happened: I got a message that "The offer is not available in your area" and have been redirected to a page in Romanian.

It does not have background music. I do not know what Butcher meant with the "soundtracks". But anyway, this mod seems to be made with care. I didn't bother to play past the first level, but I'm quite sure there's more of the same to come, in the later levels.

Very challenging mod:haven't passed the first level yet Laughing There are no sounds though and I don't like the graphic. It's from dungeons level 8(pretty grimm).I like the blue dungeons. What strikes me the most are the spikes. The floors are littered with them.Nothing like I have ever seen before.I think this may compete for the title of "The Hardest PoP mod seen by a PoP fanatic"! Twisted Evil
