As we all know, everyone has had problems with Starforce CD/DVD Protection system. Recently, hackers have learnt a way to exploit it and many people (including myself) has had the pain of being the victim.

This is installed in POP Two Thrones and once it is there, IT STAYS THERE!
Even if you uninstall POP Two Thrones or other Games/Programs that have Starforce, Starforce actually doesn't get deleted because it is independent.

The Starforce company themselves has released an app to uninstall their copy protection system, which is stored somewhere in the WINDOWS folder.

I've uploaded the 150kb file at rapidshare

Once it has been downloaded, you extract it with WINZIP or WINRAR and run the app. You wait a few mins and it asks for a restart. Once restarted, Copy Protection is GONE!!!

But note that this WILL NOT make the APPS/GAMES become NO/CD.
You would still need the CD or else the "no cd patch" for it to work.

So really, only difference this app makes, is it increases your PC Security by getting rid of the buggy and dangerous Starforce Copy Protection.

No problem, but many people don't really care about uninstalling STARFORCE!

I am giving a warning - not because of my experience, but the STARFORCE company who supplied the program themselves. Why would a company make a program to UNINSTALL their own program?

Because it can be VERY DAMAGING to ur PC and they don't want to get into trouble for it.

You can also download uninstalling patch from www.star-force.com - the official site of this strongest protection!
By the way last versions of SF delete their drivers by themselves if they are not in use for some period of time. Even if protected game is still installed on your PC. SecuRom dosen't do so!

I hate Securom, Starforce and ALL COPY PROTECTIONS!!!

I think if you go out an buy (aka PAY FOR) the CD, it means u can do whatever you want to it, including copying and giving it to friends.

However, personally i don't do this though.... mainly because i don't have the time Laughing
