Ubisoft has officially announced that this title is in production, but they haven't listed anything except that. This title may be false, or true. We aren't sure yet. They say this will be for all next-gen consoles and PC as was the SOT trilogy, and they speculate that it might take place with a completely new character, although his storyline is intertwined with the princes. They say it will take place after the prince, but the past changes he has made will affect the new character. That is all that has been said so far. More info as it progresses.

The next-gen prince of persia game was subtitled "ghost of the past" by play.com's listing of the game. It was immediately taken down. Ubisoft is being contacted right now about it.

Ubisoft is working on a new PS3 exclusive game [not assassin's creed] that will be shown at Ubisoft's Ubidays event in Paris. Hopefully they show the new prince of persia game!

Gameswank news [interview with Reuters]:

http://www.gameswank.com/content/view/34/1/

In an interview with Reuters, the C.E.O. of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, noted the dangers faced by Sony and their Playstation 3. He expressed his fear that the Japanese Giant would likely lose its grip on the console market if they did not drop the price of the Playstation 3 considerably.

However, Guillemot noted that a new exclusive is on its way to the Playstation 3, but failed to provide its name. It is likely that the game will be revealed by Ubisoft at their event, Ubidays, which will occur within the next week in Paris. At this event, their many games will be shown off to the press, including Assassin's Creed and Splinter Cell: Conviction. Here's hoping to getting a glimpse of this new Playstation 3 exclusive.

CVG news:

Ubisoft C.E.O C.E.O., Yves Guillemot, has let slip that Ubisoft is currently working on a new game exclusively for PS3.

Guillemot declined to specify a title or any details whatsoever in his interview with Reuters (via Gameswank ), but it is hoped, however, that the new game will be revealed at Ubisoft's Ubidays event, which will take place tomorrow and Wednesday in Paris.

We'll be keeping you up-to-date will all the happenings from Paris, which will also include showings of Assassins Creed and Splinter Cell: Conviction, so stay tuned to CVG.

Ps3fanboy news:

http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2007/05/21/ubisoft-working-on-new-ps3-exclusive/

Ubisoft kind of dropped the bomb on the PS3 when they announced Assassin's Creed was going to be a multiplatform title instead of an exclusive. However, Ubisoft big-wig Yves Guillemot has decided to give the hints confirming that Ubisoft is indeed working on an exclusive title for the PlayStation 3. Prince of Persia, anyone? We don't know, actually, since no details at all were given.

Details on the game will, however, be revealed on Ubisoft's Ubidays event coming up tomorrow and Wednesday in Paris. They'll be showing off Assassin's Creed as well as the latest Splinter Cell title at the event. We're going to focus on this little exclusive thing, though. We're anticipating a timed exclusive with a new Prince of Persia title -- although if any of you have a guess, feel free to drop it as a comment!

Story from ComputerandVideoGames.com:

Next-gen PoP dubbed "Ghost of the Past"
Wednesday 28-Mar-2007 8:01 AM Online retailer lets slip the name of Ubi's next Prince of Persia game
A UK online retailer briefly listed a brand new Prince of Persia game, with what is presumably it's new moniker.

Blink and you will have missed it. But there are some internet ninjas out there that don't miss a beat.

Although the listing for the Xbox 360 game has now been taken down, you can expect the new PoP game to be called something along the lines of Prince of Persia: Ghost of the Past. So either a prequel to the recent trilogy or a baddie from teh past rears his ugly head?

Play may have taken down the listing as soon as it went up, but Google can't be cheated. It knows EVERYTHING!
We'll be in touch with Ubisoft later this morning.

Story from PS3fanboy.com:

RUMOR: Next Prince of Persia title was named, briefly
Posted Mar 28th 2007 2:00PM by Nick Doerr
Filed under: Previews, News, Rumors

If you like to hit the refresh button a lot and happened to be on the UK retailer Play's website, you might have caught a glimpse of the future (the humor in that statement will come later). The listing was taken down almost immediately, but for a few minutes there was on the website the new Prince of Persia game and its supposed subtitle. Tentatively dubbed "Ghost of the Past" (so you get the glimpse of the future reference now?), the new title raises a few questions about the game.

First and foremost -- what's the past being referred to? A lot of people will think "oh, it's a prequel" or "oh, an old boss/enemy will come back". We're going to take a slightly different stance. The next game will take place in the future -- not future future, but a while after the events of the Prince trilogy. The ghost is the old prince himself -- his actions from the past, namely changing the present/future, will come into play with the new character. His environments will change in semi-real time as the prince of old keeps screwing around with time. Make sense? If that's not the case, then damn it all, we should patent that idea because it could rock our socks off.

Story from 1up.com:

To suggest that Ubisoft would ditch the Prince of Persia series just because, you know, the storyline came full circle in Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones would be asking too much. He'll be returning through some magical plothole, remake or prequel, and a retail listing on UK retailer Play.com suggests the last idea may be what's on the table.
Blogger Chie stumbled across a listing for Prince of Persia: Ghost of the Past on Play.com, who, unsurprisingly, quickly removed the listing once everyone had discovered it. Thankfully, Chie nabbed a barely-readable screen shot to prove its once-existence, but a little squinting proves it was, in fact, once there.

Setting Ghost of the Past up as a sequel, however, would inevitably remove the time-shifting elements that have become a series staple. What do you guys think?

we've all seen the pictures, post the article, but spare 30 seconds of our lives we spend scrolling down past the concept art that everybody has already seen in other topics.

Anyway, environments being messed up sounds like serious fun

I'll just wait til Ubisoft releases information about the supposed game.

That 1up's storyline doesn't make any sense at all.

It doesn't look that solid yet... i guess we'll have to wait. I don't think there should be a sequel or prequel of SoT... maybe there will be a sequel of the Original PoP, who knows?

normally I'd tell you off for that, but EXTREME sarcasm is entirely appropriate for such a stupid question.

Note that this game is not out yet - it is in fact in production and hasn't been officially unveiled. This topic is about an info leak. If you even tried reading the topic you'd know that.

The game hasn't been finished and u already want to pirate it?

But anyway, this looks really cool, I wounder if it will be a sequel to the SoT Trilogy.

all this was content of a 2gb rar which was leaked from a ubisoft server abt 1 year ago. the new game has not been titled yet and this is all just primary artwork, and the game wont look anything like this probably. Ghost of the past is just a speculated title for the game, and nothing official has been released from ubisoft yet. you can find these images if u serach google for "prince of persia leak"

That 2 gb rar file contained artwork for far cry 2, assasins creed, splintercell etc along with these images. Please dont believe about the next genration prince of persia unless ubisoft declares something official.
